Meet the Chamber Team

Temika S. Whitfield is an accomplished business professional, civic leader, community advocate, and nonprofit executive whose leadership reflects a distinguished commitment to service, economic opportunity, education, and the advancement of families and communities throughout the Dallas County region.

Whitfield currently serves as a Board Member of the Inland Port Area Chamber of Commerce, continuing her commitment to strengthening the business community and supporting economic development throughout Lancaster and the greater Inland Port region. She previously served as Chair-Elect of the Chamber for 2024–2025, contributing her leadership, business experience, and community perspective to an organization dedicated to connecting businesses, cultivating partnerships, and advancing regional prosperity.

Her professional experience spans mortgage lending, real estate, business development, leadership, and financial services. As a mortgage and real estate professional, Whitfield has worked to help individuals and families understand the pathways to homeownership, financial advancement, and long-term wealth building. Her professional philosophy extends beyond transactions; she believes economic empowerment is strengthened when people have access to information, opportunity, responsible guidance, and meaningful relationships.

Whitfield is also the Founder and Executive Director of Teens Moving Forward Mentorship, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established to encourage, mentor, and create opportunities for young people. Through her nonprofit leadership, she has remained committed to connecting youth with mentorship, education, career exposure, life skills, community resources, and positive examples of leadership. Her work reflects her belief that investing in young people is one of the most consequential investments a community can make in its future.

Her record of public service further distinguishes her commitment to community leadership. Whitfield served as an elected Trustee for Lancaster Independent School District, representing District 3, where her responsibilities included governance, educational oversight, fiscal accountability, policy, and advocacy for students, families, educators, and the community.

Prior to and alongside her educational advocacy, Whitfield contributed to the growth and development of Lancaster through service on the City of Lancaster Planning and Zoning Commission. Her civic involvement has provided her with a multidimensional understanding of the relationship among education, housing, economic development, land use, business investment, workforce development, and the long-term strength of a community.

Whitfield's commitment to education is equally personal. A lifelong learner, she has pursued higher education while maintaining significant professional, civic, nonprofit, and family responsibilities. She earned an associate degree from Dallas College and a bachelor's degree from East Texas A&M University, graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors and a 3.9 GPA and earning recognition on the Dean's List. Her academic accomplishments demonstrate the same discipline, perseverance, and commitment to excellence that have defined her professional and civic journey. She continues to pursue advanced educational and professional goals with an emphasis on leadership, business, public service, and creating greater opportunities for others.

Beyond titles and professional accomplishments, Whitfield considers family among her greatest sources of purpose and legacy. She is the proud mother of five children and grandmother of nine grandchildren. Her experiences as a mother, grandmother, entrepreneur, advocate, and public servant have shaped a leadership philosophy grounded in resilience, accountability, compassion, integrity, and an understanding that decisions made today can influence generations to come.

Throughout her career, Whitfield has demonstrated an ability to build relationships across the business, education, nonprofit, governmental, and community sectors. She approaches leadership with the conviction that meaningful progress requires more than occupying a position; it requires listening, collaboration, courage, accountability, and the willingness to serve.

Her vision is centered on creating stronger connections between economic development, education, entrepreneurship, homeownership, workforce opportunity, youth development, and community leadership. She believes thriving communities are created when businesses prosper, families have pathways to economic mobility, young people can envision successful futures, and leaders remain accountable to the people and communities they serve.

As a current Board Member and former Chair-Elect of the Inland Port Area Chamber of Commerce, Temika S. Whitfield continues to bring her professional experience, civic perspective, entrepreneurial spirit, and commitment to service to the advancement of the Inland Port region.
